Coaching for Rational Living

Coaching is considered a personalized and systematic learning process dealing with non-clinical problems and challenges. Coaching supports people to achieve specific goals in various areas of their life, ranging from work to health, parenting and sports. One important point in coaching is strengthening the coachee’s rationality.

This book is based on Albert Ellis’ theory regarding the central goal of long-term happiness through rational living. He considered that there were 3 components to a happy and fulfilled life – cognitive, semantics and philosophy. Ellis taught rational beliefs to people without mental health problems, because he thought that everyone could achieve happiness in life.

This book presents steps for good coaching sessions, as well as blockers. The book emphasizes positive psychology and shows how to create a good case formulation. Moreover, it contains applications for Rational-Emotive-Cognitive-Behavioral-Coaching in a variety of domains.

It is highly recommended for everyone who is working in the coaching profession or who wants to learn more about the field.S
